How is Obesity Perceived in Today's Society and How

Obesity, in some cases, is not the individual's fault. However, society sees a disease as being the person's fault for being inactive and eating huge quantities of food. We are a society that values looking good and healthy. We are judged by it. We spend billions of dollars annually in research and development to find the miracle cure for obesity. We are waiting for the miracle pill that will make us lose pounds rapidly.
This pill doesn't exist. It will not exist either, unless you are ready to destroy your metabolism along the way. It is solely your choice. Consumers spend thousands of dollars annually on food supplements, diet products and other programs that bring minimal to no results.

How can we explain to a person who restrains himself and only eats small meals but still gains weight, which his neighbor looks thin but eats for 10 people? From a technical and medical point of view, the obese person has a low tolerance for sugar. You might have a low tolerance because of heredity, but your eating habits have a lot to do with it as well. You adopt most of your eating habits between your childhood and adolescent years. You probably found snacks in your kitchen that were high in sugar, instead of healthy alternatives such as vegetables and fruits. At that age, you don't argue with your parents about what snacks to have in the refrigerator.

Education is important, and healthy eating habits should be taught from a young age. Children are more likely to be obese and grow up to be obese adults if their parents are obese. All of it starts at a young age. But don't despair, it is never too late to change your eating habits and work hard in making a difference.
College students suffer from this predicament as well. From fast-food hell (hamburgers at dinner and pizza for breakfast) to drinking beer, students have a tendency to get fatter in the years to come.

I remember when I was living at a resort for a couple of years, which was a famous destination for Spring Break (South Padre Island, Texas), I was walking on the beach and looked at thousands of full blown beer-bellies (that was after looking at thousands of gorgeous looking college girls). I was shocked about how many students did not take care of their health while in school. Parents are sending their kids to educate their minds and when they come back home after four years, they'll need a triple bypass.

College years are over when reality kicks in and you realize that you've gained couple hundred pounds and feel awkward about yourself. You are now looking for a job that corresponds to your field. Let's say you studied communication (public relations or journalism). You had excellent grades (3.99 GPA), and you are ready to hit the world with your knowledge and unbeatable attitude. You show up at interviews and, shocker, you need two chairs to sit your butt down. The position you apply for requires face-to-face meeting with clients so the company needs energetic people who travel a lot and are very active. Unfortunately for you,

you don't qualify for the position. You would love that job, be good at it, and would get it if you were thinner. This is our society. The first impression is the most important one. The same company will probably offer you an in-house position, probably being stuck behind a computer on the phone, which will make your situation worse.

Let say, you do take the job because you want to start at an entry-level position within the company and prove yourself to the manager. You try your best to do everything for everyone. You go do errands during your lunch hour, you work longer hours and you miss some important meals of the day. To hold on, you drink black double shot espresso coffee (stimulates insulin secretion which makes you more sensitive to the intake of carbohydrates). Since the strength of that coffee can wake the dead, you add a couple of spoons of sugar to make it drinkable. Here we go with that refined sugar. Wait, I am not finished yet.

Here comes the weekend. You had a long week of hard work and it's time to relax with your friends and food. Yep, the good food. Baked potatoes with rice and soft tender meat that can make you drool 20 miles away just by smelling it.

I think it's time for me to stop right here. I guess you get the drill. This is how, ladies and gentlemen, you become your own manufacturer of "Goodyear Tires" (around your waist that is).
This is how you developed a taste for the bad sugars. The method offered in this book will take you through a cure of detoxification that will make you lose the desired weight and keep it off. This cure does not require you to get a second mortgage on your house to pay for it like other detoxification centers requires. I will just open your eyes and show you the proper way of combining food and eat whatever you want (removing the bad sugars from you diet, of course) while you still keep the weight off.

As a first step, you need to increase your intolerance to sugar ingestion. It is presently low. This is why, when you eat a single slice of bread or other product high in sugar, your pancreas starts producing high levels of insulin.

If, for example, you have a strong desire to put your hand in boiling water, just for the fun of it, many people will explain to you what will happen to your skin when you do that. I guess you will come up with the same results: first to second degree burns... Right? Would you listen to their advice? Or would you still put your hand in the water? No, I guess not. The pain is instantaneous. So why don't you do the same for your health? Well, because it's a long-term destruction of your body and you don't feel the result right away. It's like smoking. You won't feel your lungs being damaged after the first few cigarettes. It will take several years before it shows destructive results.
